New Delhi: A scuffle between Central Industrial Security Forces and Delhi Metro employees left thousand of commuters stranded on Thursday night.Officials of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) alleged that CISF personnel thrashed the station manager at Dwarka Sector-21 over a parking issue, which led to a protest by DMRC employees and affected Metro services for around 20 minutes.A source informed that the assault took place around 11.30 am at Dwarka Sector-21 Metro station.The source ad ded that a CISF sub-inspector had gone to the station for some official work, and had parked his car in the DMRC staff parking zone.When he returned to his car, he found that the tyres had been deflated on the instruction the station manager."In a fit of anger, the official along with a counterpart, started a heated argument with the station manager, which consequently turned into a scuffle," said the source.He further informed that a PCR call was made to report the incident."A report has been lodged on this issue by DMRC and CISF is taking up the issue departmentally. Senior officers from both sides have intervened into the matter to sort it out at the earliest," he added.To protest against the assault on station manager Shambhu Nath, DMRC staff assembled and staged a protest in the night in the premises of Dwarka Sector-21 station, which resulted a service disruption on the Blue Line in the Dwarka Sector-21 to Janakpuri West section. This also affected the enti re Metro loop.The agitation, which began around 9.00 pm, temporarily halted services. Services on the line were then restored at 9.35 pm. "Services on the entire line are running normal," said a DMRC official.Shabhu Nath has been sent to nearby hospital, after receiving multiple minor injuries, said a police source."We have initiated an official inquiry against the accused CISF official, if found guilty an stringent action will be taken against them," a CISF spokesperson said.Team MP
